Star Lake or Trout Lake

I'm not expecting much but it's worth a shot. Looking at taking a trip to some new lake trout waters with some old college friends and thinking about Star Lake and Trout lake. We are just looking for some good action and some catch and release pictures. Any info on the lake would be helpful. Hate to make a 3hr drive for something that's not worth it.

When i think of both lakes, "good action" lakes does not come to mind.. you could get skunked on either easily
