Sylvan at GSP

Anyone been in the last 2 days?  Walk to Brady's?  Headed up tomorrow just wondering how long my planks need to be.

I hadn't noticed too much talk about it.  I try to stay away from the "hot bite" lakes.  I aways pass people leaving Sylvan with fewer than 5 fish, sometimes they don't have any.  Some lakes are much harder to find the structure on.  Sylvan is one of those than changes from year to year, I believe it's due to the amount of weeds killed and where they kill them.  Don't always get them in the same locations year to year.

8" of main lake ice at GSP and Brady's.  Some edges are soft but not all.  Walked/spudded about 1 mile.  Worst spot I walked across was where the trail meets the water at GSP!

I'm not going tomorrow, there won't be anywhere to park unless you're tying your horse to a tree, plenty of trees!

Is the ice thick enough for both me and my horse? I thought rather than tie him up and walk down that hill maybe I'd just ride him right out on the ice. Seems to make more sense.

I really can't believe I haven't seen that one up there.  Saw a group of what appeared to be Amish to me pile in a truck last weekend.  Not sure, lots of Amish (or I assume) up there last weekend but only one buggy.

I tell this story all the time...stopped by gsp in 2015 headed back from Erie walleye trip.  We got in the lot at 11:30 pm pitch black with coyotes talking.  I thought we had the wrong place as there was 12 horse and buggez lined up on the lot.  We made our way down the hill/woods.  The beards had kerosene lanterns set up everywhere.  I couldn’t understand a word they said!  Pretty scary for me bc first time at gsp.  Reminded me of weird al yankovich song called living in an amish paradise..they all had a vex..just saying

Most of the Amish have rides with rubber and private places to park too.

lol scared of Pilgrims?  thats a new one on me. lol  they do like to talk behind your back with their broken german.  funny reaction when you answer them in their tongue.  :o

i have seen a buggy on sylvan.  young kids doing donuts out in front of the ramp.  good way to get a trip to the wood shed if dad seen them.  horse can fall and break a leg doing that real easy.
