Whats your set-up for targeting BIG togue?
« on: Jan 18, 2018, 08:31 AM »
I had an inquiry on my NH thread about what kind of set-up I use for togue...for those who may be curious I use 6 or 7' of 15 lb. fluorocarbon to my squidding line via barrel swivel...I attach an Eagle Claw 8" x 12lb. test micro-steel leader...i take the snap that comes with it off of the end and attach a 3/0 circle hook directly to the loop...i hook the bait at the rear of the dorsal parrallel to it with the hook facing the tail...hope this was helpful...TR

I pull an arms length or 2 of Trilene XL 8 pound test and tie on a #6 straight shank hook.  Add a small split shot.
I'm just here to read what all the experts have to say.

You can't possibly catch fish with a set up that simple and no flasher, hogwash I say. ::) ;D

Works like a charm too. I giggled a little when I saw this. Sounds so familiar
Fishing is like playing at Carnegie Hall, when your good your good. But do you know how to get to Carnegie Hall? PRACTICE!
