Washing Flasher Case
« on: Jan 12, 2018, 11:45 PM »
I stored my flasher in a basement that ended up having a small mold problem. Now the case to my marcum has some funk on it. Has anyone put these in a washing machine or should I just clean the surface with some diluted soap? The inside seems mostly ok and the unit itself is fine.

Give it a good dousing of 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water mix, use a brush and give it a good scrubbing, rinse and dry.  I wouldn't use javex, it will fade the material really bad.

Never washed my case before but don't think I would throw it in a machine.  Just my 2 cents worth of advice.

Ok so I took my time on this but I ended up just hand washing it with vinegar, baking soda, and a little dawn in the utility sink. Ended up getting it pretty soaked. Wash water was brown when I was done but the case looks ok. Wrung it out and it's air drying now. Was a bit tough to scrub without getting it soaked since the fabric wanted to wick the moisture away at first.

My flasher bag (ice 55) had mold on it too.  Threw it in the washer machine and it came out like new.
