Never seen a bass so pale

Been doing some fishing at a old Mill pond and been pulling some really pale bass out. is this normal?

I catch bass like that in the spring on lake Champlain almost white or sun faded. Def water clarity issue. Stained water does that to all species in my experience.

a pond i fish has much lighter bass, cream colored with a faint grey stripe. very freaky

i have caught pale bass like that out of clear ponds too. i have even caught pale ones out of the same hole that i caught dark normal colored ones. its really weird.

Fish can change color very quickly.  Flounder can change from dark to light in a few minutes if they swim from rocks to sand.  Trout will get very pale if they are placed in a white tank for a few days.  It all has to do with ambient light and their wish to camouflage.

that color tells me he came from deep water, shallow bass have the normal color, depends how much time they spend in shallow or deep water ;D
