Fished the afternoon plenty of people out there. Not a flag for us missed one on the jigging rod, didn't notice any activity.

Fished both Saturday and Sunday
Saturday was windy but not the arctic cold air that's usually blowing up there so it was very manageable
I landed 13 lakers
12 jigging
1 on a tip up
All fish were from 15-24inches

Sunday was much nicer conditions with a lighter breeze, but slower action than the day before , I landed 7 all on the jig from 16-23in
It was definitely a rare treat not to  have to clean a single hole
These mild temps sure won't last so I'm glad I got to cash in on some Schroon Gold

If you have a safe access point yes the ice is plenty thick
The town launch and fowler Ave have weak edges for truck access I saw a lot of busted ice along the shore at those points

Getting on with a wheeler or walking no problem.  3 trucks broke through at the edges this weekend.  12-18" ice once you're on.

I was on the lake today, drove on with my Jeep.  16"-21" ice, fished near the Island, one Laker on tipups, along with some nice perch.  Been hearing of good Laker fishing lately.

Only fished Loon once this year... December 28th.... there was 10-12" then... has to have at least 18-20 by now!

Never fished the south part of lake.... good luck!

The bay below the narrows on the west side is good.  Narrows itself can be good close to shore both sides.

Any idea how much ice is off Fowler? Looking to make it up for our annual President's Day weekend trip. Wondering if trucks will be "safe" or quads only. Then again, with the snow coming, might have to be a snowmobile!

Thanks for the updates, its much appreciated. Being able to bring the pickup on the ice will certainly help with getting to some of the spots I scouted with Navionics. I think we may even go up a day early to fish the lower narrows on schroon for Pike and Lakers. Hopefully that predicted snow is kind to you guys

Heading up tomorrow morning, anyone know how the conditions of the ice are? A lot of snow, frozen now, bare ice? Also, how is entry from Fowler Road? Any trucks getting on there? Bringing a quad but I believe my buddy hopes to get his truck on.

Thanks and looking forward to a great weekend up there! Even with a little rain, better than the desk I ride for a living!

Fished today, 23" ice, 5-6" crusty snow that softened up as the day went on.  Drove on with my Jeep at boat launch in town, Fowler is good too.  Good action on tipups, 2 of us, 5 Lakers, 3 keeper size, nice and fat, plus a 12lb Pike, which I released.  All caught suspended 10-20ft under the ice in 50-60fow, on Hunts.
