Use your mental powers and believe you are fishing some place warm. Lol. It's just a thing you deal with while ice fishing. At least I do.

Not really, at least on the line but it is rather easy to pinch off. If the guides/rod tip start icing up Stanley's Ice Off paste does a decent job. It's a winter flyfishing product. Tried many things for line and gave up, most are more of a problem than they're worth.

Nice thing about fishing in a house, you get rid of that problem.

If you are stuck outside,  it is put the line in you mouth and gnaw the ice off or use your hand.

Not much you can do about it unless you have a flip over, cube or house to fish in.

When it builds up on your line just lift up and grasp between fingers and slide it down couple feet and then it'll be in the water and melt.

Use your mouth, spit it out, then swish with beer....it is lake water, and you probably dont want to swallow it.

Start fishing high in the water column, the go deeper as ice forms on your line.  It will slowly melt off...

There's a product called the ice stopper (maybe made by HT, but not sure). It's basically a bobber with a reservoir inside that gets filled with mineral oil or some similar non-freezing non-toxic solution. The bobber floats in the hole, and the line moves freely through it (and the mineral oil). The result is an ice free line and normal jigging experience.

I've never used it but I hear they work well.

Do as Gills-only recommends. If the tip freezes up, put it up to your mouth and blow. The warm air will remove the ice or at least loosen it so it can be wiped off.

if ice is building up on your line, you're not catching fish.
