Hey does anyone use palm rods?
Like em, hate em, never used them? I heard about them from a podcast from the Team USA Ice Fishing Team. Yup, I didn't realize there was such a team but that's what they exclusively use for competition overseas. Since they are less than $20 I'll probably get one next year just to have on hand. They are ultra ultra sensitive, and I'd imagine they could be good for that pesky crappie bite.
Curious if anyone has tried them.
Thanks. @)

I’d feel silly using one

Yeah, i would feel silly too given there is literally nothing to them. Although team USA used all of their custom rods and reels on the first go abroad and got their butts handed to them. When they switched over to the palm rod which is used all over the world, they started winning. It is really for that super finicky bite when nothing else works. Curious if anyone has used it.

Honestly have never even heard of a palm rod....looks like something I will have to give a try. Who doesn't like new gear?

They are new to me. Looks like an inexpensive way to add another panfish rod to the kit. Last time I fished crappies I wished I had another lite rig as most of my reels were spooled heavy for big fish and deep perch. I actually had to put my face in the hole and sight fish to detect the bite.
Dammit now my day of steelhead fishing is ruined by an intense urge to find crappies.
I wonder if palm rods are fatiguing to hold for long periods.
