Even the Frabill Thermal tipups float...we floated a few earlier in the year when there was a lot of water around the hole. It just sort of hovered above the hole. LOL For open water though, it would be illegal (at least here in NY) because it would be considered jug fishing. $:-\$

I wondered about jug fishing. I saw Shaw Grigsby do it for Catfish and wondered if it was allowed in NY. Glad I didn't try it.

judge is the only one ya have to convince get modern technology! Never be scared of gamewardens or as you call em eco they are no different than u and I an rc boat is under direct controll lol dogs with those collars are under controll so why not a trolling boat "Fishing by Wire" or wireless

OK, This probably sounds crazy but it just might work.

Would it be legal to tie a spinner bait, crank bait, etc on the back of a RC boat and have a line from your pole to the boat? You could prop the pole up and run the boat. If mister DEC comes along, you should be covered because you are hooked to a pole.

What do you all think? I might be going to toys-r-us when the ice starts to melt.

If I found a release clip weak enough to not snap the outriggers/ strong enough to hold up I was going to try trolling using my RC boat. The prop wash combined with a nice big topwater outta really get them pike n musky active.

I think theye are available, called a Precision Caster. it is a RC boat that you rig, you can even have a smart caster fish finder on it....
