:icefish:Well here I am walking into my favorite store and wham they hit me as I round the corner augers, sonars, ice houses,new jigs and my weakness ice rods. Then I see a familiar face it is Chancy the Perch whisper. He asks can I help you! I'm speechless can't talk and I finally get it out IIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCCCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEE! Are there others like me out there praying for Ice without slush 8 inchs deep and fish not just one but many flapping on the Ice and others in the depths waiting to suck in that new jig that is attachd to that new rod that is covered buy that new shanty. Out side the shanty all you can hear is the music of gas augers and that whisper of those electric augers matched only by the lights of your sonars and cameras. If thats you help is on the way and his name is (00) Jack Frost.

Jim Snappy's has all their ice fishing stuff setup for the year? I need to get some gear so if they do I'll be headed that way next time I am back in Montana.

Yep its been up for a couple weeks like Jim said...It's difficult not to get the Ice Monkey on your back after going in there!

SOME stuff has been trickling in and put out, but they are now displaying almost everything they will have...don't delay!!!

Andy, yes they are loaded up, looks to me like they have more than ever. But like Mike eluded to, when its gone, there isnt more till next year, Usually.
To me it looks like they have way more flashers and sonar than they ever have.

Thanks Jim and thanks to the others who responded. I'll head up there as soon as I am back in Montana. Not sure yet when that will be but hopefully soon.

Ready?! are you kidding me! We finally got our first good frost this morning over/up here. I was so excited I went so nucken futs I didn't what to do, so I did the only thing that felt natural at the time with no ice around................ .................

I ran in a 5k benefit run yesterday...29 degrees frost on all of the vegetation. Got me fired up. Got home and sorted through all of my gear. ..even fired up the auger!

Pond out north of town was skimmed over all day. Yesterday i drove back from the Ruby through Butte, i saw lots of skim ice near Butte. Itll be here before we know it. Im already planning on hitting G-town before the end of november, and thats right around the corner!! ICE ICE BABY!!!!

I guess I'm about ready too. Duck hunting has been terrible this year (for me) and each day when I'm sitting over the dekes, part of me wished I was sitting on the ice, staring at the vex with a rod in my hands.

I'm not quite ready to throw in the towel on ducks yet, but in another 3-4 weeks, I'll be ready to fish.

Back home in Finland they are already ice fishing. Rough translation of the description is that they were in the middle of fishing for perch in October of this year and they got this gator instead:
