I plan on going to Harris bay this weekend for some perch ! How’s the Harris bay parking ? Wondering if I should park at the bay or atv over from mdb. Wasn’t sure on the parking situation

You mean your fishing LG on a weekend with us common folk, geesh.
I be on drone alert.

Lol yeah. Rowan has school all week so we can only go out on the weekend. Plan on parking at mdb and fishing at Harris bay for perch. Maybe a little laker action if we get sick of the dink’s. Keep an eye out for the drone. I have all 3 batteries on the charger !

I believe there is 2 different strains of lakers in LG

I`ve caught lakers with white bellies and others with dark green spotted bellies on LG.
Master Laker taker.

My daughter caught her first Laker today on a light jig pole. We were out after perch and she thought he had bottom until it started to run. 24" about 4.5 pounds.

Killed em today !

How many perch can you possibly eat? You should at least let the fat females loaded with eggs go. Someday Rowan can say to his kids " Gee " we use to catch a ton of perch here!!

We landed about 300 fish. Tossed back the fish under 8 inches. Kept about 50-60 keepers. We almost never keep fish or perch fished lake George. Saved enough for a new meals. ( the 3 of us boys can pound 10 fish at a time no problem ) now we can catch and release trout the rest of the season and still eat fish ! That didn’t put a dent in the population

Lol the perch population is insane, we didn’t get into that many dinky fish. I was really surprised. What I didn’t know was the red ear sunfish population was is just as good. I didn’t hook into any but a fellow angler was nice enough to show me what a bucket full looks like and how to catch them ! Thanks man they will be on the kill list in the future!

This website is such a joke..

If there is no value than what's the worries . If its only a place to take information,  then what's the purpose.
Every once in awhile things turn into something other than talking about how to catch fish.
I could care less about how many caught,  released,  or tossed on the ice for eagles to feed but I will give my personal thoughts as a lifelong sportsman to share with the future sportsman out there

From your own words a decade ago.

Keep it real.

Im a newbie to this site. Have to admit that. I have ice fished since i was a kid and in no way do i need advice on how to catch fish. I was turned onto this site by a guy who said we could get reports on conditions on local lakes. thought this site would be great to find out whether or not there was safe ice in the area. Im not here to find someone's honey hole, only to find out if a lake in someone's area is safe to be on. I like the NY general board because it is reallly entertaining, and as a far as the idea that people should be able to post without recourse is ridiculous...if someone makes an outrageous claim that is clearly BS, they should be called out on their ridiculousness and general stupidity
