ugh dude that sucks!   all my buddies are planning ice trips this weekend, and for the first time in my life, i don't feel comfortable joining them, on account of some really questionable ice we came across out there a lil' while ago.   Just might have to drop a few floats over some steelhead instead.

yeah. I was 16 when I caught it. Actually my first time ever ice fishing lake george at that. On a tip up. My dad, cousin, and uncle said it was the biggest they ever saw from that lake, so I kept it. We also got a 34" and a 36" that day. Those were released, because we actually got the 34, 36 and 39" all within 30 minutes of each other. Honestly, I knew nothing about lakers. I thought that was a average day on LG...didnt think anything special about it until my taxidermist (clark who has sense passed away) told me it was the biggest laker he has ever mounted.


ALL tip up fish also.... on icicles. Over very deep water, but only 30-40' below the ice.

I would give you the location, but you will need a boat. Area rarely freezes. I don't even know if its a special spot or not. Haven't been back there.

thing is on the wall in my garage....I can't get my wife to let me hang it in the house. Those dang women.

My biggest was 30 inches. Would have been nice to get to get something over 35. I didn’t see many people pulling out too many monsters.

well, they do smell haha.

art would be a good excuse...but her reasoning is, "I don't want dead things on my wall".

I do have her half talked into letting me get a replica mount of my pike for in the house tho.

leg is coming along. Got the OK yesterday to start walking with the brace on and crutches...remove crutches and go full weight bearing in 2 weeks. More x-rays in 4 weeks.

Yeah I hear ya. Better to be safe the sorry. Open water season is right around the corner. I’m itching to get the boats out.I had a customer calling me 2 days ago asking about betting a fleet of boats in the water by sat. I told them they are jumping the gun lol

Saw something interesting in the Village yesterdy.  Group of guys, right on main street, breaking into cars.  Almost had to rub my eyes.  They popped someones door open right in front of me.  Let the authorities know but didn't see any nearby.

very enjoyable day on the lake yesterday.   Interestingly enough, the three of us are the first ones out, figure we will fish the main lake point north of the access at hearthstone. We figured since there probably won't be many people, we could get away with it and not have anyone bug us.   We spread out just far enough to not interfere with each others fish finder, and doesn't the very first person that comes out set up right between us     Ok, whatever, so we walk a long ways north to get away from folks, set up in a new area.   Drill our holes and start fishing enough apart so that we don't give each other interference, and now someone else decides to do two loops through our spread, glad the panoptix handles interference well     LOL gotta love lake george.   Next time at least say hello!

Maybe they just had a bad night at a bar and locked the keys in the car and Coming back to get it ? Normally they just check for unlocked doors or bust the window to snatch a phone. They  won’t take the extra time to use lock out tools to not damage the cars they are robbing. If they did take stuff from the cars they are very courtesy lol

Don't sweat it.  Was sitting at a light when I first noticed them.  I called after they went to a second car after opening the first one.  One guy was doing the opening and then his buddies went in as he went to the next.
