MDB. Perch bite was awesome again! Seem to be finding more dinks but worked through for another limit. I was on 4-5 inches of grey honeycombed ice, which was extremely active with both noise and movement this am.  Access from the boat launch was wet both ways. Plank would be great however rubber boots will do the trick. As stated earlier below freezing this time of year is not the same as Dec. and Jan. Creepers are a must. Be smart, be safe.

I had afternoon off drove the lake, only 1 truck at harris and the guy was not very far out, checked our private access out near Fishers Marina, shore escaped our spot to get on, at least 8 feet to the ice and lots of big cracks. Same with another access off of cleverdale, used a spud today for the 1st time, now I know why you need to put a strap on them, 2nd swing and it went through. Noone on Kaatskill or Warner bay but understand I never ventured out to test the ice so my observations were based on looking at crappy shorelines or the end of non bubbler docks. I personally I am not going to risk it but my threshhold is less than most. At a minimum, make sure you have a buddy, good rope and personally a flotation device if you are that serious. Be careful

Looked like quite a few guys fishing MDB today. access at boat launch is getting bad. Heard some nitwit tried to drive onto ice and busted it up. not sure if thats true or not but it was pretty broken up. May take a plank or a good long jumper to get off tomorrow!!!

MDB was slammed today. After hearing a lot of people say how bad conditions were getting, never would have guessed that many people out.Took me a bit to find em but when I did they kept me busy. Had to sort a little bit but ended up with a limit of nice ones. Some guys this am ventured way out there. Around 5" of ice

Lots of open water in Basin Bay today. One guy got wet trying to cross a crack and only a few perch and smelt caught by our group of three. Guy next to us did lure in a 25 inch Laker very fat and dark color must have come down from Schroon Lake LOL.

I got my redemption yesterday!  After losing a nice salmon at the hole Wednesday in the rain, i thought it would be my sole chance at icing my first landlock.  The temps friday were cold enough to maintain 4" of ice so i hit ot yesterdays morning for one last shot!  Needless to say im glad i did.

Logan good to see you yesterday.  Your spot never recovered so I went back deep and marked a few that wouldnt move off the bottom.  Lance it was good to meet you as well.

Nice Salmon Allen, I was shooting for one but did not succeed.  However one of the guys I was fishing with got one that size on a tipup.

Nice salmon, nice pickerel and kid picks!

Well said  ....  for a year with not much ice we sure made the most of it.

I hooked back up with an old high school friend last year who loves to fish, loves lake george (especially ice out in his canoe) and introduced him to jigging lakers, the noise of lake george making ice, pressure cracks  :o (we walked a half mile plus out of our way last year to cross one on shore), let him borrow my backup flasher and he caught some fish.

This year he found us an early ice deep water spot, bought a vex of his own, landed 7 fish in an hour all alone one afternoon on his first outing with his newly purchased vex, was fortunate enough to experience an all out first ice bite and ice a ton of fish  (i caught more that day  @)) and this weekend we fished both days and had a blast.

And yesterday he got a 19 inch salmon on a tipup .

For a warm winter with not much ice time it will still be memorable for many of us. Some got 8 salmon jigging (so far  ;D), some went in  :o    .....

who knows ..... with the forecast maybe we can fish next weekend  ;D
Goin' where the wind don't blow so strange,
Maybe off on some high cold mountain chain.

Good year for salmon. Seems a lot of you are catching them while chasing perch. Wonder if they salmon are there enjoying some yellows for dinner  :P
