Line for Marmish Rods
« on: Dec 12, 2007, 06:26 AM »
For those of you that use the Marmish jigging rod, what size (lb. test) line you use.  I just got mine and am leaning to 4 lb original Stren.  Your thoughts?
Thanks, Dad, for taking the time to show me how to fish!!

I'm using Fireline Crystal - 3 lb which has a 3/4 lb diameter. I have found that mono coils too much for my liking. The Fireline is easy to work with and tie knots.

I have two Marmish rods. I have 3lb. Trilene Micro Ice on one for lighter jigs and 4lb Fluroclear on the other for heavier jigs and small spoons. I like slightly heavier line because of handlining it. I love 3lb line, I have over half a dozen rods spooled with it.
