How is St. George looking? East Grand?
« on: Dec 20, 2006, 03:41 PM »
Anyone know how St. George is looking over in Palermo? Especially near the Marshall Shore area. This was my place to go for opening day...but things arent looking so good. Was curious of people in the area could fill me in for the 1st. Love catching fish up there, and it treats me alright most days. How about East Grand...is that shaping up at all? Me and a few buddies are looking to make a trip before the 15th. Thanks.

Justin

I'm fairly close to Lake St. George, I'll take a look in the next day or two. I expect that it is wide open though.

Quick update.......the cove at the west end of St. Goerge along rt 3 is skimmed over, but the rest of the lake is still open including Marshall Shore. After the rain tomorrow, I'm sure the skim will be gone too.  ::) I don't believe it will be fishable until mid Jan. >:(

East Grand was wide open yesterday, just a little ice along some of the coves.
I drove around the whole lake on Saturday.  There was more ice on some of the
roads than on the lake! :'(

He may want to make other plans, I went to the landing yesterday, and the stretch of water along rt 3 had a skim of ice with an open hole here and there, I don't believe it will be ready to walk on for a while. I think the main part of the lake is still open.   :(

two of my favorite places and no ice?  :-\
Why do I "need" an assault rifle? Because I'm not nearly as effective with my as$ault rock.

Fished st. george today, nice brookies.  Ice a lil soft not bad 1 1/2 to 2, just don't go past waist deep.
don't think it will last much longer with the temps but cross your fingers
