Ice suspended in corn field
« on: Dec 08, 2018, 02:48 AM »
I hope to not reignite last year's suspended ice war, but this is an interesting view of ice that froze thick enough to hold someone and is still suspended in a corn field.

Not in a corn field.

We had been in to look at a beaver pond before season walking on the ice. When we went back in to set traps I thought some thing sounded funny, like hollow. The beaver dam had gone out leaving 6 inches of ice suspended in the trees. My son wanted to crawl in the exposed bank den that the beaver had been using to see what it looked like. I would not let him as some other critter may have taken up residence in it.

Very cool. I've seen that before, but not on that level. Mostly judt some marsh grass holding the ice up. That there is impressive.
Tried ice fishing with Dynamite, UGH... where's my shanty?

people flood corn fields around here quite a bit to hunt waterfowl - refuges do it often too
