Marquette Area Ice
« on: Dec 06, 2018, 11:14 AM »
I am looking to do some fishing this weekend in the Marquette area, has anyone been out on any local lakes (Teal, Goose, etc.)? Hoping low temps will help solidify everything tomorrow.

People were fishing out on Teal on Wednesday but all were close to shore.

There where 3 snowmobiles on teal all weekend and maybe 25 ppl. Goose is just a swamp i dont think people fish there anymore. I was on a few lakes in gwinn and we did really good, lots of guys out fishing as well. Stopped in Republic yesterday to check trail cams and there was a group of guys out fishing that area as well. Looks like good safe ice all over the Yoop.

Goose lake is most certainty not "just a swamp".

I remember a whole lot of people back in the day used to ice fish goose. But whatever happened to it? I've heard it was getting really shallow and "swampy"
