Jiffy auger tune up.
« on: Nov 16, 2018, 07:42 PM »
It has been a while(years) since I have done any ice fishing.Too many things demanding time and not worth explaining it.I'll get to the point. My Jiffy gas auger will need a good going over before I get back on the ice.Can anyone recommend a good shop that does tune ups in the southern Maine, Alfred/Sanford area?
Thanks.

Dag's has been the most recommended place for some time and I'm sure they are still great. However my question is geared towards finding someone local with emphasis on experience.Jiffy has a list of dealers but I haven't dealt with them either so that sums up my question.
Not looking for any kind of replacement auger, just wanting to get a line on local service, thank you.

I did find some spare time and did a good amount of work on my auger.Still hoping to find someone local if anyone has experience.

Not much to em. The carbs are very basic. Just make sure the diaphram is free of holes, gaskets are still good. I have a few strikemaster augers and can do a full tear down and service in 20 minutes. Something satisfying about being able to do it yourself.
