I picked up a Vex FL-20 with a DD-100 this season. The DD-100 unit displays a different depth than the main display. (see pic) Is this normal? Is this something I can calibrate? Is it defective? Am I reading it wrong? At one point I was over 4 feet of water and the DD-100 display showed 49.8 feet. This pic show 17 feet of water while the DD-100 displays 50.(Image removed from quote.)Got any suggestions?
where you truely over 50 feet of water or not...
My flx28 digital depth on the dial goes wonky sometimes in low power mode which it looks like yours is in.try it without lp mode once.

I wouldn't think he would be in 50ft and using lp mode.
That's something that should be in the user manual. It could be as simple as a line that reads, "The DD-100 only works in normal power mode."
...The digital depth display will always give you a depth reading as long as your Vexilar FL flasher is turned on and the transducer is in the water. The digital depth portion of the indicator will work even if you’re not in the correct depth range. This will allow you to get your flasher in the best depth range possible. If your display is blinking or the depth numbers are going up or down rapidly, it could be that you’re over a huge school of fish or baitfish OR the bottom is irregular. ...
Don't use the DD-XXX units on Low Power.
