Pike Tacos
« on: Jan 02, 2009, 06:45 PM »
Should be catching some pike here shortly and was always thinking I wanted to try fish tacos.  Are pike a good fish to use for this application?  also any other way I can get rid of some pike would be great, besides the simple old just fying up the fillets.

Never tried Pike Tacos.  There are lots of good recipes on this site try: http://www.iceshanty.com/ice_fishing/index.php?board=58.0
I have found a couple (non-fried) that I really liked.  RG has one in there using "nuked" fillets that was good.  :P

I have used left-over pike for fish tacos.  It was pike wrapped in foil w/ lemone. butter, garlic, salt & pepper.  Had some left-over so the next day we made fish tacos w/ it.  I thought it was real good, but I love fish tacos.  What I do w/ halibut for tacos is rub it with olive oil, salt & pepper, lemon or lime juice, and chili powder.  Makes great taco's and I bet it would work real good for pike too.  Just my $.02
