Bought myself a jaw jacker last year and never used it. Today I decided to give it a try for rainbows using smelt. I can assure you of one thing , you do not have to set the hook, when it goes off you have a hooked fish. I caught 2 bows and was completely impressed how well it worked. My buddy who is 84 had quite a good laugh for himself when I set it, but that smile got smacked off his face  when it caught 2 within 20 minutes. They work!

Nice, congrats!

Yeah, I missed my first hunting season ever, also why I’m active on here I have nothing else to do. Spine injury last year kept me down. I was bed ridden all season had a bout with loss of reflexes and paralysis. Had surgery in December and I’m gaining on it. I am walking under my own power now. I’ll be back!

For what it's worth, If you are really interested in the lakco puck and can't find one check out the quiver magnet. Although it appears larger than the Lakco Puck.... They seem to be comparable in price and my negate the need for a second one? We used them duck hunting years ago before realizing a jerk cord didn't require batteries.

well.. another puck update.. I used it yesterday and when I first used them I had used my jiffy propane 10".. they worked, but 2 would have been better ..as I said. Well, yesterday I used my 8" Nils and they work AWESOME with an 8" hole. No freezing and nice slight "wiggle" to your line every so often. Of course, the fish didn't decide to cooperate for the couple hours I got out ...missed 2 good hits on the jiggin rod.. but that's it. I got the others delivered today so I'm going to try 2 in a 10" hole and will report on the results. I can't get out tomorrow unfortunately, but for those that can.. pre front.. it could be on. Good luck if any of you get out.
