Got a little action tonight

(1/1)

redneckdan:
Hit the lake tonight. 6 1/2" of solid ice. Setup in 40 FOW between a 15' shelf and 60' hole. I was running a glow Hali with two glow BroBugs spaced at 6". Tipped with maggots. 90% came on the Hali, 7% on a BroBug and 3% doubles. First school came thought at 4pm-ish, and action was slow. Really got rocking and rolling around 5 and had a frenzy for about half an hour then settled into a steady pace until about 11pm. After that it pretty much tapered off to nothing. Still graphing them but no biters. End the night with about 30 lbs. May need to make me one of them fancy smelt spears...

Had the whole place to myself. Those seem to be the best nights. These smelt seem to be really noise sensitive. Usual the morons will show up and start drilling holes at 5 ish right when the frenzy is getting rolling. The fish will settled down and start biting again just in time for another moron with an auger to come along...
