Hey Alex. Yes and yes :) I've been using the biggest glow jig I can find tipping it big shiner pound bottom let it set on bottom 5 min. or so repeat. They will start spawning middle Feb. to end of Mar. then you can really hammer em. On traps I just set up right on bottom live or dead. Live up the state from ya. Oh ya also fish in 15-30 ft. water muddy bottom

yes and yes.

I like to just hook up a single live fathead or two  dead ones on my hook.  It's now just the right time for me to go looking for them.

I fish ling pockets in the day and then at night they move to the flats or a hump. glow jig with a minnow.
anything on bottom or a foot off will work for them.
i found that lake trout belly working awesome this year.
