Title: BOWFIN

is a bowfin a part of the Eelpout family ive caught about a half dozen in my life they are prehistoric looking and they have alot of teeth. very sharp teeth and have scales like a carp .ithink they can be very dominant in the water to other fish.

no i do not beleive so burbot is a in the cod family. also burdot is the only type of freshwater cod.

these fish have multiple rows of teeth and scales like a carp and are greenish color but look like burbot?

Bowfin (AKA: Dogfish) are no relation to Burbot (AKA: Eelpout).

here in saskatchewan we call burbot dogfish or just doggies. great tasting to bad people litter them ALL over the ice.

What we call dogfish taste worse than anything else that swims. :sick:

Eelpout are great to eat.

Burbot, Freshwater Cod, Ling, Lawyers, Eelpout, Cusk, Mariah or w/e you may call them :)

Thats the truth they are also some tough SOB's I caught about a 10 lber on a spinnerbait this summer got him to the boat picked him up gave him a whackacross the head with an oar hit him hard enough you could see where I broke his skull The thing started flopping around finally got my line I kept going back to that spot all day long never did see that fish float lol
