I need to use my hammer drill for some concrete holes, and I was a bit trepedacious about removing the clam adapter and putting the chuck back on, since I had a lot of trouble getting the chuck off to begin with. Turned out to be easier than I anticipated (note, I had put antiseize on the chuck threads before screwing the clam adapter on).
I backed out the reverse threaded screw - it was hardly tight at all. I found a punch which fit the hole in the adapter tightly. It didn't want to come unscrewed. So I clamped the drill down and looked around for an extension to put over the punch and was coming up blank until I noticed the 16" clam extension that I had just taken off the rig. Put it over the punch, gave a firm but cautious pull, and off it came. WHEW.
I just bought the brushless 71/4" circular saw and it and the drill will both come in handy rebuilding my deck.
