Name this fish
« on: Nov 16, 2007, 08:12 AM »
I have no idea what type of fish this is. I was told it could be some type of goby, someone suggested it may be some type of stickleback?

Notes: it had NO scales and a trout like skin/mouth.

I'd love to know.. ;D

I'd say that's a nice piece of bait right there.

Its not a snakehead.

Compare the gill position between the two and you can see the gills on the snakehead are position alot farther back than the other fish.

Stick it on a Tip-Up. ;D

I would say that you are right about the Logperch thing given the fact that this is there home range:

Range From Quebec west to Saskatchewan; Hudson River drainage in Vermont and New York; St. Lawrence, Great Lakes, and Mississippi River systems; Gulf Coast drainages from w. Florida west to Mississippi and e. Texas.

Thanks for all the input fellas..I picked it up after swinging a fly, pause, pause, went to roll cast and almost tossed him instead.   It did come out of a great lake trib. ;)
