Title: Mantua - Break Through?
Post by: Dizzy on Dec 16, 2010, 01:38 PM
Unfortunately I'm not speaking figuratively here... but according to Utah Fishing Reports - literally!  :o

12/13/10 - Ice conditions have deteriorated. Bob Hicks witnessed an angler fall through the ice on December 12.

I hope the guy is OK.

I'm not getting that warm fuzzy feeling that I'll be cutting holes anytime soon.  :-\

He went in up to his armpits and got right back out.  So yes, he was all right.  I know if it was me, I'd have to go home and change...and not necessarily due to the water. :o

Very cold temps last night and forecasted for tonight.  Mantua should be safe for the first part of the weekend.  Who knows after that though, it's supposed to rain again.

Early ice is over rated and not worth the risk.

I'm not sure about it being over-rated, but I 100% agree with the rest... absolutely NOT worth the risk.  ;)

5" yesterday; should have put on a bit more last night.  The ice was in surprisingly good condition considering the weird weather the last few days.  Three days of cold helped a lot I'd imagine.  Now it looks like a couple days of rain this weekend...will we never get a break???? >:(
