How cold did it get in Texas?

It was so miserable in Texas all the robins that had been staging there said, "Skrew it! If it's gonna be this cold we may as well go on to Wisconsin!" No lie, my yard of full of robins this morning. Tens of dozens as far as I can see in any direction. I've seen this a few times before but never this early.

It's been so cold in Texas rumor has it uncleshorty asked Scott to create a Texas Fishing Reports board. The sewage canal across from the creosote plant has frozen over with walkable ice. I think blackened catfish might be on the menu.

Not to steal yer post....but what's weird, my crabapple tree has been full of Robins since January....!!!
 I've never, ever seen that in the 20 years that tree has been there; had it full of Cedar Waxwings
a couple years back, but not robins. Appears they never flew south or wherever they go. However, after watching the stoopid things continually fly into all my windows all year, I've concluded they are not the sharpest birds in the Avian world either. 

Now, I'll second the blackened catfish! Might be able to break thru the ice and noodle a few.

Down here at La Casa del Whacko, in beautiful downtown Spring, TX, just across the sewage canal from the creasote plant, we use them puny Oklahoma gators fer bait...  One thing's certain, though.  We don't fish in the sewage canal.

We don't want to disturb the natural habitat of Texas politicians...
