It's I could afford at first and got me fishing for a lot of years. All spuds work very well but are clearly a lot more work than just about any auger out there. Most cases anyone that uses these turn out to be dynamite fishermen because it says a lot about their determination to get out fishing!

there are two resons i want one reason 1.my buddies shanty has jigging holes that are setup for and 8 inch auger and i have a 10 inch auger, we don't want to bring two  augers out with us each time and mine runs better so we usually bring mine, every time we go fishing and just bring his when we put his out and drill those out and bank the  shanty with snow so we dint have two redrill those holes. reason 2, i hate drilling holes so if am going to be out there the next day i would rather chisel out the my holes from the previous day.

yes, those little ice chisels work good for frozen up holes, but it splashes inside the hut sometimes so trie to make your chiselling equal

Do the leaves of trees stay greener, in the autumn, does the colour of the sun, turn crimson white? Does a shadow come between us, in the winter?

cant you change the size hole in the shack? i have a three pice spud that fits in my pack basket.
it works fine but im soakin sweat after a few holes. most shacks need a spud around to chizel it out of the ice at times. if you get the spud be sure to use the rope on the end. many a spud was last seen going down the hole.
