Was on the South End today off Silver Beach.  Found a variable thickness from 4" to 6".  Lake did not freeze evenly causing the various thickness'.  Had to really work hard to bring home a decent perch.  I was just jigging today.  Worked 8' to 14'.  My buddy ran tip-ups and had better luck. By the way there is another "ice-locked" sail boat on this side of the lake too!

Or they under estimate the ice sometimes.  ::)

That's not the way anyone wants to end the year. On a serious note use common sense and be safe it's early check the ice and know where you are and the area your fishing

I wish I could say that wasn’t his fault but it’s kind of common sense... early ice conditions, easy walking... are people really that lazy that they need to drive on the ice?

We saw both those trucks when we got off the ice and were driving over the bridge. We were pretty surprised anyone would drive a vehicle on the lake and then park so close together. The trucks looked to be parked right next to each other.

Maybe the truck belongs to the guy who owns the sail boat?

The area affected by bubblers is much smaller this year with the colder temps.  I saw guys fishing right off the launch pier (over the old cut-off bridge pilings) on Monday and that area never froze last year.

I know its been cold, but be careful depending on how far down the creek you go, the current down towards the bends always keeps the ice thin.
