Catchin' Slabs & Chasin' Flags
« on: Feb 10, 2020, 09:37 PM »
Hit up the Wisconsin River with the crew to target some big crappies ice fishing. We also threw out a few Finicky Fooler tip ups with dead shiners that I dyed red the night before.

The bite wasn't steady and the crappies were a little tight lipped, but we had set up in a good spot with some wood nearby and that seemed to be the key in managing 7-8 crappie in a few hours of fishing. A small Tungsten jig and plastics/waxie seemed to work best. The bite was really lite, it seemed like the crappie were just sort of sucking in the jig and sitting on it so you really had to pay attention to your rod tip and your flasher
