Last report I heard, two days ago, is that the bit is on at
Regina Beach point, perch, walleye, jack, ect.
You can walk on from the bottom of the hill.

Drive on HE HE ;D :P
No, do you know were Regina Beach is,
go past the Esso and all the way to the bottom
of the hill, either side of  the peir,
that is where the least amount of snow is
and you you can head any direction you please
as thetrails are pretty packed down.

Word of warning:
there is a point at Regina Beach, thin ice
there is a point at Pelican, west of Regina Beach, thin ice
and there is a pressure ridge from Pelican to Little Arm
Stay on the trails near these areas.

How about some reports?
No specifics, just reports.
The bit should be on a Pelicans
little arm and Grand veiw at the moment.

The dogs were biting pretty good  at Pelican Pte. yesterday.  I caught 6 in about an hour (2 were throwbacks) and either missed ,had line breaks, broken swivels or got off under the hole about another  12.  When the wheels started coming off my tackle it was getting sort of nasty out anyway so I quit.  They averaged about 3 - 3 1/2  pounds.  Is it my imagination or  are they getting smaller?

BB:
There is an older guy and his dog that go out everyday to the point, he drives a quad or smowmobile out from the cottages at Pelican, he will know for sure if the biggens are still around. I you got something to trade, he makes his own jig heads for burbot. Big bullet head and nice stout hook, takes a lot to bend one of his. I know wwhat you mean about tackle, blow apart a few reels on those babies out there.

That guy's a friend of mine and I talked to him on Tuesday.  He said he's just been fishing with a couple of tip-ups in front of his house while he works around the yard and caught an #8 plus but I think overall the ones I've caught the last few years are smaller than before.  When I first moved out there in '90 it seemed like the average size was 4 - 4 1/2 lbs.  But then again we used to get 5 and 6 lb pickerel like they were for free, too.  I'm going to see about getting some of those jigs, because I don't have enough strong ones for dogs.  He used to cast  bottom bouncers as well and made worm harnesses too, so if you want to trade for any of that, and he's still got it, he's usually willing. I traded a bunch of crankbaits for that stuff when he first started marketing it, but because I don't troll much (canoe), I turn a bottom bouncer into 3  threading needles and a sinker for carp fishing! Thanks for reminding me of him... I want to make a bunch of pyramid sinkers and it might be easier to hire him.   He cast the anchors for my decoys way back.
