Palomino Trout
« on: Jan 20, 2012, 10:12 PM »
While I took the skunk  :'(, my buddy jigged up this nice palomino (golden) trout on a local club pond today. I can't remember ever seeing one in person before. Cool looking fish...

Nice! I've seen them before but have never been able to catch one. I bet the ospreys catch most of them before the fishermen.

Rumor has it you got lucky there once ;D

In response to everyone's questions, I fished for a couple hours as a guest at a club just south of the MA/CT line. I know the pond is well stocked but I have no idea how many of these trout are in there. It's the first that I've seen or heard of. To my knowledge, the states of MA and CT don't stock them.

To those guys who are members there, my apologies if I am saying too much. I found the trout to be quite fascinating, and I'm trying to be courteous and informative without being overly so. I respect your privacy.

Saw a show last week on the Outdoor channel where they were fishing for Palomino Trout. Very nice looking fish would love to catch one someday. That must have been a real bounce getting one around here.
Hard water Tight lines Flags up. Doesn't get any better than that
