Yeah, I don't know.  The seller is Reeds in MN.  Maybe they're just trying to move last year's models before new stock starts arriving?  Dunno.  It's a small risk if ION has a major innovation or improvement coming with new models, but there's a lot of folks shopping the 2016 model cars on dealer lots right now for the same reason - big savings.

Thats a great deal on the ION. I picked one up last season to upgrade from my old gas Jiffy and oh man....I was really impressed with the battery life, cutting speed and the power . Cant say enough good things.

Here's what we've all been waiting for! Ardisam has redesigned the Ion 40 volt electric auger for 2016. I have attached a brochure which you will need to print out to adequately read the features. It now has a 5 amp hour battery which gives you up to 1600 inches of cutting on one charge. The powerhead and handlebars are redesigned for cutting into hard to get places such as the corner of an ice house. It has a cast bottom with a center point for better cutting both of new holes or existing holes.
 MSRP is $659.99; MAP is $629.99.

I wonder if that XC5 battery will be compatible with last years ION auger and ION charger... at 40V, electrically it is compatible and it should just take longer to charge on the existing ION charger but I wonder if the battery mounting slot dimensions have remained the same or have they changed so it can only be used on the ION X. We'll have to wait and see, thanks for sharing!

This is a pretty good deal if you're looking for a fully insulated hub.  This would be comparable to the Polar Bird 3T less the insulated floor.

So, I got a deal today that I couldn't pass up or pass on.  Sometimes they're just too good for me to pass up even when I don't really need things.  I snagged a Clam Bigfoot XL 2000 Hub for $5.68 and free shipping.  I did pass this deal on to another member who had expressed an interest in a hub, but by the time I got my shipping notification, the hub was listed as "Currently Unavailable."   Deals like this are available on Amazon, but you have to be patient and persistent; look for things where they shouldn't be, mis-catagorized, etc.   This hub's retail price is $269.99 and I got it for $5.86 and shipped free.  I'm slightly afraid that I'll receive a Clam ice anchor in the mail, but, lol, we'll see.
