Cusk in the CT River
« on: Feb 24, 2016, 04:12 PM »
Anyone have any info on catching cusk/burbot in the Connecticut River?  I would be fishing at night and be present. I know NH has some special rules with cusk lines, but I don't know if that applies to standard tip ups while you are present. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I once got a cusk in the passumpsic, so it makes sense they would be in the CT. I got it on a crawler on the bottom of a deep slow pool during open water season. I would think that that would work during the winter too. You could also use a half a dead perch on bottom. Get em that way at willoughby. As for spots, I would think slow deep water are your best bets. dont want current pulling on your lines. that said I would think the moore and comerford resevoirs would be ideal.

If that's the case, I bet just above the Wilder Dam would be an option too (it's closer for me). Does anyone target them on the CT River? Is there even a decent population of them?
