Hello Ice Shanty!
It's good to be back for another great year of hardwater fishing. We are proud to be offering an even bigger selection this year and have added many great brands. Tackle Shack is the largest ice fishing retailer in the region. Currently, we do not have a webstore, but we are continuing our work towards that and in the coming year, that should be live. Until then, we look forward to seeing you in store, and we are willing to ship most items if you give us a call or send us a PM here on Ice Shanty.
Thousands of jigs are in stock, plus electronics from MarCum and Vexilar, Striker Ice suits, 13 Fishing rods & reels, Eskimo ice shelters, Shappell shelters, and so much more. We are carrying Ion, Ion X, Gen 2 Ions, and the Strikemaster Lithium 40V augers as well as a full range of Strikemaster hand augers. K drill, Strikemaster lite-flite, and Eskimo pistol bits are in stock too!
I expect to be fishing in Tioga County in the coming week. A few people got out on some small private ponds. Most of the smaller lakes are frozen with some small patches of open water. If we aren't hammered with snow today, we should be fishing soon. As always, we will update conditions often here on Ice Shanty, and on all of our social media pages.

Hi Don. After seeing the weather and your lake condition report for Hills Creek, I finally got to make my first trip to your shop and it’s true you really do have a great ice fishing selection. Your staff was great too in offering some helpful advice for my first trip to the lake. Although it’s a long drive, I will be back again. Thanks for being an IS sponsor and taking the time to make the lake reports.

Reports are up in the reports section. We will be normal hours through new years. Plenty of bait in stock. Hopefully mother nature cooperates and cold weather returns in the new year.

I am going to be out of the country from Jan 20-Jan 26th. The shop will be open normal hours and Ryan will be glad to help you all with ice fishing gear and live bait. There are a few upcoming ice fishing tournaments here in Tioga County this year. We will update if there is any date change or cancellations.
Feb 8th- CV Anglers Club hosts their annual tournament on Beechwood Lake.

Feb 15th- Mansfield University Fisheries and Aquaculture Club hosts their annual ice fishing tournament at Hamilton Lake. This is a fundraiser for the club and money raised helps with the student's summer class trip to Tennessee.

A few people are out fishing today here in Tioga County. We missed a lot of the rain last night. Cold weather most of the rest of the week should help conditions recover from these warmer days too. We will have full ice reports again on Friday.
Now's a great time to stop in and stock up on some new gear with lots of big sales here at Tackle Shack.

We just spoke with the guys at CV Anglers and this tournament is a GO for this Saturday. People have been fishing the lake all week and cold weather these next few days should keep everything in good shape. Good luck to everyone fishing!

We're shaping up for a great weekend of ice fishing here in Tioga County. new reports are up on our website and in the conditions pages here. Lots of sales are going on now!
The Hamilton Lake tournament has been cancelled. If it is rescheduled, we will update again. The boat launch area has not refrozen since the last warmup and edges there are soft. This could skim over by the weekend hiding the bad areas. Be very cautious on the upper end of the lake, especially anywhere near the boat launch and the creek channel. Currently open water extends out probably 100 feet diagonally from the dock, and ice around that area is surely thinner too. Your best access is from the dam parking lot, with 6-8" of ice in this area. Check the reports section for more details

Want to thank you Don for your help a few weeks ago. A buddy and I drove up from Maryland to fish for the weekend and your input was very helpful to us in that we had never fished any of the area lakes before. We had a great time and were able to ice a few fish. The shop is great and we were able to load up on everything we needed. Also want to give a shout out to a couple of locals we met wile fishing Hills Creek. Thanks to "Ice in Tioga" & "Bluegill Slayer" for your valuable advice, it was very helpful. Good to meet and chat with you both. Hope to see you up there again next year.
