Does anyone have any tips on sharpening serrated blades on a electric knife. Short of buying new ones, any ideas ?? ???

if you know someone with a chefs choice sharpener, it will work. just look at the manual, and it tells how to do it. i have a diamond rat tail sharpener that works also.

I've sharpened mine on a Lansky knife sharpener with pretty good results.

I also use a diamond rat tail type knife sharpener, you can also clean the bur off the flat side running it flat on a regular sharpening stone.

I have sharpened mine several times with a Gatco sharpening system.  Works pretty good.

I have touched mine up on my chef choice using just the shroping wheel. gets em back in shape but I still replace them every 1.5 seasons or so.

There was a post up last year in regards to this mattter, and If I'm not mistaken, the concensus was that it was easier to just buy a new set.  I think they said the mister twister blades were the best.  FORD CHEVY I suppose.  I have a Rapala cordless set and I have used it for several years w/o needing to replace the blades.  Are most blades interchangable?  That was the impression I was left with when we discussed it last year.  Love to know.

I am going to sharpen them one more time, since it appears that an edge is very short lived during the pan fish season...I might just buy another set....Thanks for the help... ;D

I had no idea you could sharpen those serrated blades. I always though you replace them. Hmm...got a drawer with a couple sets in it. Will the electric Chefs choice work? I assume thats whats being discussed.

I wouldn't think a chef's choice would work.  You got to hit the outside edges of the grooves.  It takes me about 5 minutes to sharpen both blades.
