I fished Schroon this weekend and the fishing was a little slow.I saw a nice laker caught in about 100ft of water on a tip up.I caught a couple of short lakers and a couple of dozen perch. The ice is about 8" thick north of the narrows.Everthing is booked in the area for
this weekends tournament.

Caught a 35" pike on saturday, while jgging a small spoon in 42 feet of water on 4 lb. test. Luckily I hooked him in the corner of the mouth and was able to keep the line out of his teeth. Also caught a 21" salmon on a tip-up and 4 lakers 20-23" on tip-ups and jigs.

Bill the answer is yes suckers are working also.I had good luck with smelt on airplane jigs in relatively shallow water(between 10 and 25 ft).I also did well on the perch in 10 ft of water jigging 31/2 off bottom.

Any particular color? Sweedish Pimple? Glow? How deep were you fishing? Are you tipping your spoon with a smelt? Do suckers work out there or do they prefer smelt?

Thanks,

B.K.
