If you are fishing tip-ups at night and don't have any tip-up lights try using little bells attached to your tip-ups. When the flag pops up you will here your little bell jingling and can pin point which tip-up it is. Also a piece of reflective tape on the flag and a good bright flashlight helps spot the tip-up that was set off. Good Luck!!!! Polish Fisherman Racine, Wi |

Posted At 17:36:43 12/23/2000 How in the world can anybody deal with snowmobilers driveing through there fishing area at night, or am I the only one this bothers. I am considering a slingshot, not trying to be combattive just tired of having to be the one that has to move. |

Posted At 18:31:46 12/01/2001 I use wooden dowels with reflective tape spaced every 10ft from my shack and out beyond my farthest tip up . Do this in all 4 directions to help at least slow the machines down. Good luck. |

Posted At 07:38:50 12/11/2001 I use hook up a nifty little $5 lantern run on a couple of batteries from Wal-Mart to see my tip-ups. All that i do is set them right next to my tip-ups. Then i can see if there is a flag and clean out my holes with some light. From Shawano Wisconsin |

Posted At 17:06:20 01/08/2002 last year a freind and i were walleye fishing on sacandaga res. here in upstate ny.a group of sleds went by,and one of the boneheads ran completely over my buddies heritage tip-up.pissed off, we started after the guy who had pulled of the ice into a bar[yeah i know wrong place to set up].anyway to make a long story short the guy saw us coming and drove out to us,after seeing how upset jim was about his $30 tip-up getting smashed the guy offered to pay for it.we were rather surprised but glad to see that some people do still have some ethics. |

Posted At 20:53:05 01/11/2002 I use little copper bells on my tipups too, day and night. During the day i can concentrate on my jigging and just listen for a bell to go off. Boy does that get me exited when i hear the ding....ding... ding.. ding. ding ding ding. FLAG UP! |

Posted At 09:47:28 02/07/2002 Andy, regarding those pesky snowmobilers.Go to your closest military shop, and pick up some land mines. set them up about 10 feet from you tip up spread. After the first one blows up you wont have any more driving thru your spread. |
