I'm trying to find a portable, light weight way to supply a 12 volt lighting system to my ice shack? |

Posted At 17:45:11 11/18/2001 I use an automotive dome light like in a police car and a 12 volt jump pack. The dome light has velcro on the bottom and velcro on the roof of the house. This way I can transfer it to and from my permanent and portible. The battery pack is for jump starting cars and has a cigarette lighter outlet. (I'm sure you have seen them at automotive stores) The pack will run the light for over 50 hours and is highly portable. I even used it to jump start a guy at the end of the night one time. |

Posted At 15:51:02 11/30/2001 You can use the dome lights from a car or go to a R.V. store and they will have lights you can use. A small gel cell in 12 volts is light and will work very good. if you have a way to take it out a deep cycle marine will last longer but is very heavy if you have to carry |

Posted At 17:11:13 01/07/2002 The push lights are the way to go. They mount eveywhere and produce great light. No electrical wiring needed. They are cheap also. |

Posted At 20:10:24 01/13/2002 lanterns work well they also provide heat. Try to use a double mantle which produces more heat and light |

Posted At 17:13:25 03/03/2002 Dave, I've been wanting to do the same thing. I was looking at the small lights sold in the automotive section. The type that mount to a car bumper and provide additional hi-way light. They'd mount nice and provide all the light needed. Olson |
