I have used a propane stove in my shacks for 10 years now, and the heaters I use have got to be the safest I know of. When I go to spend 1-4 days at the Allagash "Condo" the last thing I am gonna bet my life on is watching a candle to see if there is enough air to breath, I am real surprized there is so many people out there trusting their and their friends lives to a candle,I'm surprized we haven't lost a bunch of them. The stoves I use are 16,000 btu direct vent propane stoves equipped with a thermo coupler incase the flame goes out, they cost $100. plus shipping. They are very cost efficiant to operate and to my knowledge and experiance are quite bullet proof. email me if you have any questions I'll be glad to help you.
