When I said to cut the tube off squarely I meant the tube that the grease comes in....next just today I found out a slick way of gettin the grease in better heat the tube just a little makes the old crap shoot out warm up put the grease tube in warm water or what ever then use a syringe ypou can get them at farm fleet I have the for givin mules and dogs shots. On the beaver dams leave end play when solderin the spool back on by this I mean there is slop when you move the spool up and down.. I put my tipup in a vise bottom up.................................... : What did you use to squirt the lube into the tube?

: ----------------------------------------------->

:
: : Yep it is done be\y takin off the line then heat the spool on the bottom with a small torch pull out stem from top the grease I use is assembly lube dont have any now but I will get some and get the number.. On o\polars its easy unscrew the nut and wing pull out from the bottom then use the tube of grease and fill from the bottom pushin out all the crap till good grease comes out same with the bdams on the bdams wipe off the grease on the shaft after you put it bak in burn off whats left put the spool back on and reheat there is for the most part enough solder on the spool to get it to stick but if not you will need to get some ....the trick is to get it clean to stick with the right temp : : I have several beaver dam tip-ups.They are in need of some lube.I have no idea how to repack them with grease.Does anyone out there know where I can find instructions on how to do this?

: : :
: : : ============================================>

: : : I have the same deal with about a dozen polars I
: : : think you would have to get the grease into the
: : : tube by some pressurized means, otherewise air
: : : pockets fill with water which will cause the
: : : tipup to turn hard under extreme cold.
: : : Has anyone succesfully done this?
: : : And what kind of grease did you use?
