Choice Ice Fishing Baits
by Brad White

Waxworm   Waxworms are the laval of the waxmoth, probaly one of best all around icefishing baits keep them at room temperatures 65-70-degrees-they last for up to 5 weeks-I found it real favorite for gills, sunnys and crappie here in the East. Spikes and colored maggotts come from the larve of which is a meat fly known as a bottle fly. What I like about colored maggotts is they might imatate the color of different bottom crustations which fish commonly eat. Mousies on the other hand come from a moist wet waterway type larve and tend to be more expensive than Spikes, but the good thing is you can put them in the frige and they will last for months at tempatures at 36-38-degrees.
