Author Topic: GREAT DAY ON THE ICE - WHY I LOVE TO ICE FISH!! (Read 2017 times)

SO I DID SOME FISHING WITH A COUPLE FRIENDS FROM WORK. WENT AROUND 10:30-11AM. HAD TO HAND DRILL SENSE NEITHER ONE OF US HAD AN ICE AUGER. $:-\$ FINALLY GOT ALL OUR TRAPS UP & SET, AND IT STARTED OFF SLOW.

THE SUN WAS OUT UNTIL IT SOME HOW GOT COVERED BY THE NASTY CLOUDS. WIND WAS PICKING UP, AND THE TIME WAS GETTING BORING.

THEN MY FRIEND SAYS TO ME "FLAG!" AND I JUST GIVE HIM THAT "OH YEAH RIGHT" LOOK. UNTIL I GOT UP AND TURNED AROUND AND SURE ENOUGH, I HAD A FLAG.

WALKED TO THE FLAG, AND THE SPOOL WASN'T MOVING SO I THOUGHT I JUST HAD A WIND FLAG. CHECKED IT OUT, AND FELT A LITTLE MORE THAN MY BAIT ON THE LINE. SURE ENOUGH, I PULL UP A BEAUTIFUL BROWN!! MADE BOTH MINE AND MY FRIENDS EYES BALDGE. I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE SOMETHING SO BIG COME OUT WHEN IT FELT LIKE NOTHING.

NOT EVEN 2 MINUTES AFTER PULLING THAT FISH OUT OF THE HOLE, ANOTHER ONE OF MY FLAGS RIGHT BESIDE THE OTHER WENT UP.

LONG STORY SHORT, I HAD A GREAT DAY. DIDN'T MAKE IT A WHOLE DAY, BUT IT WAS A GOOD ONE AT THAT.

Glad someone got something. Tried a secret pond today and got worked...worst day of the year one bass and one other flag. Guess ill be heading back to the honey hole. P.S. Love all the Irish blood in here.
