Confirm or Deny
« on: Jan 13, 2009, 07:19 AM »
Heard there is fishable ice south station Sebago. Can this be confirmed? If true I might try a bit of cusk fishing tonight.
                    Thanks in advance

Thanks guy's.  Any idea how far it has frozen? Would rather be up by Harmon's beach but if it's not safe the station will have to do.......

confirmed...went down there tonight.  6-8" of ice out to about 150 yards.  it dropped off fast to 2-3" way out.  one guy was fishing and said it was slow but guys were catching them further out today.  bring a bar to check the ice as you get into deeper water

Thanks again. Couple of good cold days coming, think I'll just wait a bit. Fat guys, sketchy ice and darkness are a poor mix. Going to take the safe vs sorry approach

All a life jacket does is make your body easy for searchers to find.  Better not to go in at all.
