Thinking about putting mine out this weekend. Theres about 8 inches of good ice. My sleds got no skis on it yet :o. Might have to eat my wheaties, the shack ways about 500lds ::) :tipup:

As long as you think that the entire lake has 8+ you should be fine.......I would recommend doing it with some type of motorized vehicle.....we pushed our 8x8 out on glare ice the first year and it sucked......everytime we stopped to catch our breath the shack would freeze to the ice from the friction of moving it.....the way we do it now is we leave it on the trailer and hook the trailer to the 4wheeler and pull it out that way.....less wear and tear on the shacks skiis........I hope this helps.....

Ya 8 inches of good ice is fine.  I got a 8X8 with 2x4 studs on the flooring and roof, i know bit much but wanted it to last.
