Might be making a trip to Swan Lake this Saturday....Anyone have any advice that they would like to share ???

That can a good lake jigging smelts some years. go down the shore line past the boat landing and theres a little parking lot by a brook that was always a good spot to acces the lake, If there is any shacks crowded together there's smelts around . We have caught nice fish right there in the past. Down the lake further by the state park is another popular spot to get on. 8)

I didn't know it was closed to the taking of smelts, been a few years since I have been there. But if the smelts are there the fish will be to. 8)

As of Tuesday 1/6/09 the parking lot at the boat launch was plowed plenty of room to park and access the lake. Swan can be very slow at times.

Deep hole up by the state park is the best for lakers.  Nice little rock point where you go on is good for brookies.  Slooooow fishing and a two trap limit.  But you can get some good ones when they hit. 
CAreful of the ice there. Always a pressure ridge across spruce point and it usually varies in thickness over the deep hole.

Went by there 12/27.  Wide open except for 100' off shore.  I know its been cold but be careful. :tipup:

Do they still stock salmon in there? I have heard the fishing for salmon is real slow but when you get one it could be real good.
