IceShanty Pox -Very contagious to adult males. No known cure.

Symptoms

Frequent checking of iceshanty.com forum and jig catalogs.
Continually complains as to need for fresh cold air, faster computer and faster internet access.
Patient has blank expression, sometimes deaf to wife and kids.
Has no taste for work of any kind.
Hangs out in portable shanties in sporting goods stores.
Secret night phone calls to ice fishing pals.
Mumbles to self.
Lies to everyone.

Treatment

Medication is useless, disease is not fatal.
Putting your head in the freezer and a steady diet of ice provides temporary relief.
Victim should go ice fishing daily and browse iceshanty.com as often as possible!

Without Iceshanty I have absolutly no use for this computer, I even had to buy better one last year just to post pictures. In between shanty visits I let the kids use it for their homework.

I've got it!

I was doing some serious soul searching yesterday when I realized I had reposed my senseless blabber to this site 1000 times in the last 2 seasons. I hardly watch the other TV any more ( except for The Simpsons & South Park)

After much assiduity, consideration, and deliberation, I concluded I was a mentally deficient habitué of IceShanty.Com.

Now you tell me it's a disease with no known cure!

You're a very bad man Scott.

By the way, thanks for enabling my addiction.

My family M.D. perscribed a 1hr. dose of Ice Shanty twice a day and 24 hrs of icefishing weekly. I'm not sure if my Blue Cross/Blue Shield will cover it. LOL

This disease is disasterous!!!

The wifes has put the foot down and told me to start attending meetings with her daily. She has wondered if the computer should be put away and the sun should come out to melt the ice.

She does not approve of me hanging out with people with names such as Asphalt, FatBoy, Crappieloo, and Ice_Troll. I have to sneak on late at nite and not speak of these things.

Thanks to this information I was able to quickly diagnose that I too have this syndrome.

Here is a picture of one of my small group therapy sessions in the hope that it will help others who also "suffer" like us.

Not sure if its a disease,an addiction, or just all in my head!

I can honestly say though,am sure relieved to know its not just me...LOL. Sitting in portables @ sporting goods store,ya, I got it bad.The group therapy sessions , they help,but who am I kidding? THERE IS NO CURE.

You left out one symptom - Delirium. I can prove it - it is Sunday and cold out side. My recliner is empty and my favorite golfer is in contention again this week. What am I doing? Trying to figure the best way to break the news to my wife that I will again be going and sitting on an over turned 5 gallon bucket on a big block of ice. She thinks my head has turned to a big block of ice. (Oh no she just stepped in the room, be back when she leaves). She is gone. Anyway if anyone is up for it I am going for a little therapy on Cazenovia this afternon.

I've got it bad tooooo , 1 day a week off from work and where am i ?? Out on the ice of course. The wife is now trying to find a specialist to cure my 2 addictions, Turkey hunting and Ice fishing. Of course she never complains during the soft water season cuz she gets to go for boat rides if the temp is above 80.
