unless she is one of the farm or county girls leave her home. My wife and all the women i know are cold all the time anyway, so why mess up one of your favorite pass times by having to leave early or listen to b***hing. We only get to go on a dozen trips a year, i don't want to waist a single one. I don't have anything to worry about, for  some reason my wife is afraid of fish.

As long as I have plenty of capt morgan or beer on the ice and plenty of warm food, my wife is happy!

Last year my daughter had an accident before an acceptable restroom could be found.
Yup lesson learned.
I want my wife to enjoy ice fishing.
Any couples out there with suggestions?

Wait till the ice is think and drive your truck on the ice so she can sit in it while you fish

Buy a small 2 person portable shack, and a small propane heater.  Look on cabelas website for something called "Double Dooty"  It is a seat and lid that clip onto a 5 gallon bucket with special liner bags.  Works great.

If she aint that fancy tell her that brown trout season is closed and must be released.
Ain't nothing to it but to do it!!

When my father had heart surgery I was able to confiscate a couple of pee bottles (clean) from the hospital with the covers and threw one in the boat and one in the ice gear. Not that my wife would go on the ice very often if at all I have it covered ;)

My wife used to get up with me at 2, drive to Big Eagle, walk down to the lake, fish all day, then drive the 3 hours back home.  I learned the following:

Warm clothes- what she and I thought were warm was different.  Let her pick them out
Food- she ate food, I brought a bottle of water.  I ended up lugging food.
Bathroom was less important as I was fishing remote lake.  Pointing out where the outhouse was at Zigglar helped-a little.  I did keep a bucket, plastic bag and kitty litter in the truck.  Its a long walk back up the trail.
For the most part when she said she was ready to go we packed up.  She didn't abuse it, neither did I.

She has aged since then and while I still get up at 2 to go icefishing, she likes open water. ;D

Seems like a woman's plumbing is like a camp's plumbing in the spring, always has to leak. The best woman to take out on the ice is one that you met there. No matter how "Green" or the outdoors type they say they are if you make them stand in one place to long their seal start to break down and they leak. You can always buy a box of Depends and have them wear those before they get on the ice.

We're from Maine folks. My dad taught me how to pee in the woods as soon as I could walk. I'd say peeing in the woods is more "acceptable" than peeing in a bucket. That's just gross!

This one is the best one so far. No Doubt about it. But I would give her a choice, Ice Fishing or Shopping and let her decide what she wants to do. Who knows She might do both in the same day.

My wife is a county girls and grew up around a farm. My wife and most of the women I know are cold all the time, so the best thing I can do is to leave her home to fix supper and have it waiting for me when I get home.   ;D ;D ;D ;D
