I tried the plastic bottle traps like Flip... even with putting holes in it, it wouldn't sink. Might try some dynamite and a big net.

I put a rock inside the trap to get it to sink. I catch in them too.

Don't you guys think the 10-15$ is worth it?
For the big boy shiners though a 5 gallon jug like flik n dips design is worth while. You need to cut the end off and affix a mesh next though or else good luck trying to get plastic that thick to sink.

I will be making one of those 5 gal traps tomorrow. I also use two of the commercial traps. I tried the 2 liter bottle when i was younger and it did not work, maybe because I didn't put it in a good place.
